The benefit of this filter is the use of the Venturi principle. Venturi means a narrowing of the intake passage which reduces the vacuum needed to pull in air. Intake passages that are too small or too large require high vacuum levels but engines in the 50 to 70cc range do not create much of that. The Doppler Venturi air system draws air through a Venturi insert into a resonance chamber. This chamber calms gas pulses and intake sound which makes the carb run smoother and easier to tune. With the slightly revised intake path the filter is also quieter.
