This ignition unit has a little adjustment screw to change the ignition point. By turning the screw clockwise, you can advance the ignition; by turning it anticlockwise, the ignition is retarded. This way you can influence acceleration and engine running. This makes sense especially for tuned two-wheelers with increased capacity. The CDI comes with the screw in middle position.
